The Falcons enter the draft with just five picks to their name but want to go hunting for depth. Thankfully, others oblige them.
After sliding back with the Rams, the Falcons finally take a 1st Round EDGE rusher in James Pearce Jr., who was once thought to be the No. 1 overall player in the draft. Concerns about his love of the game and thin frame have seen him tumble down the board during the pre-draft process, but as far as getting to the quarterback — he's one of the best in the class at getting pressure in under 2.5 seconds.
In the second, the Falcons once again find a willing trade partner to come on up in exchange for additional picks, and do so once more in the third to take the lead as the Trade Kings of the Draft, successfully executing three in a 24-hour span.
This draft is all about adding depth for the Falcons with the hopes of raising their floor on defense to help keep them in contention for the NFC South crown as the offense finds its footing with Michael Penix Jr.
