Expanding on the SIS scouting definitions, listed in brief on the draft site.

Unless otherwise noted, the grade levels for all remaining positions are the same at certain tiers, listed below.

Between 6.6-6.2 and 5.9-5.7, though, the grades mean different things when it comes to certain positions, as far as their role and its description.

Oftentimes, the differentiating factor between a tier is if a player has multi-position flexibility.

9.0-7.0

• Role: High-end 3-down Starter
• Description: Elite level / Pro Bowl talent player

6.9-6.7

• Role: 3-down Starter level
• Description: Solid starter-level player
• Unless otherwise noted

Specific roles and descriptions by position listed below

6.1-6.0

• Role: Developmental level
• Description: Has TOP traits but inconsistent performance
• Rarely given out; mostly reserved for a non-football player who is coming to the sport late, like a basketball player converting to tight end

Unless otherwise noted, the "below the line" grades are more or less the same with minor tweaks. Some positions specify special teams ability, whereas others – like nose tackle – do not.

• Description: Top depth level Edge/LB, but non-starter - quality SPT player; NT - no SPT

5.8

• Role: "Middle of the Road" Backup
• Description: #4 Edge/coverage LB, non-starter - quality SPT player; NT - no SPT

5.7

• Role: Low End Depth Backup
• Description: Growable depth level CB/DT/NT/Edge - youth=upside / vet=emergency

5.6-5.5

• Role: Practice Squad
• Description: Lower end developmental prospect with traits to develop

5.4

• Role: Camp oriented FA - with functional trait for a quality camp player.

2.5

• Role: Player was injured during the season and needs to be revisited with report conclusion.

• Role: #3 CB
• Description: 3rd CB - Capable starter/better depth (I/O flex mandatory)

• Description: 3rd CB - Lacks I/O flex

• Description: Non-starter versatile reserve DB - True position flexibility

• Role: Top Backup
• Description: #4 Depth level CB, but non-starter - Quality SPT player
